Field Trips

At least four (4) field trips are conducted for each classroom each school year.  The Book/Supply Fee paid at the beginning of the school year covers the field trip fees.  Additional field trips might be added to the schedule as the year progresses.  If this happens, you will be notified of any additional expenses.  These are classroom-learning activities and attendance is required by all students.


Transportation for all field trips will include parent volunteers and congregation members.  Teachers and staff may be required to drive if not enough volunteer’s are able to drive.

Each student must be individually buckled into their seats.  State laws regarding booster/car seats must be enforced.  Parents are encouraged to send the students car seats on field trip days.  The school has two booster seats available in case students forget theirs on the day of the field trip.  Staff cell phone numbers will be given out for contact in case of emergencies.


Annual Activities and Events

At present, due to our enrollment numbers and lack of interest, there are no organized sports available for our Petra Lutheran School students.  Instead of sports, we have a number of academic related school activities that take place each year.  They are as follows:
  • Spelling Bee
  • All-School Play
  • Science Fair (Every Third Year)
  • Social Studies Fair (Every Third Year)
  • Reading Fair (Every Third Year)
  • Art Fair (Every Year)
  • Open Gym (3-4 per year)
  • Fine Arts Festival, Family Game Nights, Basketball, etc.
  • Musical Opportunities (singing in church, playing an instrument or piano, etc.)
